Crimped Stampings
The creation of this piece requires several steps in a single press. A tube is drawn and then its closed end is cut. Both open ends are then trimmed to remove scrap. The piece is crimped by two specially shaped mandrels. A wire electrode is later inserted through one end of the crimp, where it is welded in position. The application will expose this part to high-temperatures and corrosive environments so the piece is manufactured in a niobium alloy.
